We spent a few days between the boat and Nigel’s mum, relaxing a bit and getting some last items for the boat. Before the trip across Biscay we filled up the fuel and water.

Journey across Bay of Biscay
9th to 12th May 2004
We had been quite cautious with the weather, we stayed plenty of time for the gales around Cornwall to have dispersed, and picked an opening in the weather. However we were too careful because we didn’t end up with much wind and motored much of the way. The crossing took 3 nights - 3 days 7 hours. We had planned to bypass La Coruña and head straight for the larger Rías down the coast, but as the NE wind came up to a F6-7, fog threatened and gales were forecast for the next day we decided to stop early at La Coruña where we could be sure of arriving before dark and getting a marina place.
Arrived at La Coruña on the evening of 12th May.
