Motril
Eventually we decided to stop at Motril, a commercial and fishing harbour next to an unattractive town, and we spent the afternoon and night anchored in the outer part of the harbour. The inner harbour was very smelly with various nearby chemical works and cargo ship loading, but the outer harbour seemed ok.
Nigel and Dan went swimming at the beach just inside the harbour extension, but the water was horrible and they both decontaminated in the shower afterwards! The night was hot and busy with mosquitoes, and in the early morning we were disturbed frequently by the wash of fishing boats leaving the harbour. It was good enough to stop at but no more.
Early the next day we got up and left. We motored onwards to Adra, and on the way we caught a mackerel. Nigel got all the mackerel feathers out and caught a further 10 mackerel, and Dan helped too. We ate them while still at sea, then arrived at Adra in the late afternoon.
