Atlantic Crossing to Antigua, Falmouth Harbour

We have arrived in Antigua, on 1st January! It took a month, as after a good nine days of NE wind sailing SW from Gran Canaria, we were becalmed for a week. Eventually the trade winds arrived and took us the rest of the way. No storms where we were, except some squally weather on arrival at the Caribbean. It was good to plot our daily position on the Atlantic chart, when we had the wind. A bit worrying during our calm week though.

We saw a few whales and dolphins and boats but for many days we saw nothing except flying fish. Life on a rolly boat was ok but a bit tiresome at times, it is strange for the boat to be still now. We ventured onto dry land today, Antigua is verdant and has mosquitoes. We have met some great people even in one day, everyone seems very friendly.
