Martinique, Grande Anse d’Arlet
We had some good snorkelling here.On Tuesday 7th March we left the anchorage early and set off under sail for Rodney Bay, St Lucia (the place the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers uses as a landfall each year). The first hour was slow under the lee of the land, however once we cleared the nearby hills we were able to do 4-5 kts under sail. The next two hours we were protected from the Atlantic swell by the eastern part of Martinique, which stretches some way further south than the western part where we were. The final two hours brought some swell, some flying fish, a swordfish?, and two small whales, before we reached the lee of St Lucia.
